Tick Tock
The "Tick Tock" window display idea evolved when I recently started to produce wooden clocks in the shape of characters in varying styles with interchangeable bodies and heads. Clocks being a typically mass produced item, my art brings together functionality and aesthetics. I have also always loved working with wood as a main basis for artwork as it offers much versatility in terms of its texture and the effects different stains and paint have on it.
The giant red tongue protruding from the character on the wall incorporates the shop name "Lick" in the theme of the display.
My art work is predominantly influenced by street art and largely involves the creation of various expressive and bold coloured characters, similar in style to the stickers and clocks I have created for this window display. I love the vivid colours used in street art pieces and enjoy using simple, bright colours in order to give my characters definition and clarity.
